Raya Salloum Hamadeh

Fashion Design Lab Supervisor

Raya Salloum Hamadeh grew up in Montreal, Canada, where she launched her career in fashion. After receiving her B.A. in Child Studies and Psychology, she decided to go back to school to realise her dream of becoming a fashion designer. She completed an intensive two-year Pattern Drafting program at L’École des Métiers des Faubourgs de Montréal. During her studies, she was selected as a finalist for the Arts of Fashion Foundation International Design Competition, which took place in Miami, Florida, in 2007. She later worked closely with the renowned Montreal fashion designer Helmer Joseph, where she further refined her skills. In 2009, Salloum Hamadeh moved back to Beirut and opened her private atelier, bringing along a wide array of international fabric manipulation techniques which she incorporates into her unique designs. Today, she continues to work on her private ready-to-wear collections and made-to-measure clothing. She joined LAU with the launch of the Fashion Design Program, starting as a part-time staff member and later working as a full-time Fashion Design Lab Supervisor.
