Sulaf Abou Hassan is an architect with a passion for design. She has over three years of experience in architecture and more than four years in applied research, with an emphasis on industrial robotic arms and material programming. Besides leading the Computational Design Dubai Group, she is currently working as an architect at the reputable Perkins+Will firm in Dubai where she practices creative and effective design principles. Abou Hassan is a member of the Technology Lab at Perkins+Will Los Angeles office. She has architectural experience in the design of large-scale airport and stadium projects, in addition to mixed used and hospitality projects ranging from hotels to residence located across the Middle East and Asia, particularly in the Gulf. She is a postgraduate of the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and her skills have been acknowledged by designers worldwide through her advanced research conducted in the field of ‘Materials and Robotics’ via the AADRL’s program. Abou Hassan has also continuously pursued her research interests by conducting workshops and seminars at different venues and conferences. She has published, presented her findings and participated with entities in Copenhagen, Iaac Barcelona and the Emirates. In addition to her teaching experience as an adjunct professor of architecture at her alma mater, the American University of Sharjah, she is currently working as a part-time faculty at the Lebanese American University.
