The Department of Architecture & Interior Design is hosting a lecture titled: “Where is Italian Design Going?” by Maurizio Scalzi.
The aim of this lecture is to give inputs on the most important projects and names of this last decade in Italy, and on how the role of Designers has changes nowadays. What kind of tools we have got to bring innovation? What do we mean today by “Design Thinking”?
Maurizio Scalzi worked for Wurmfeld Associates PC in Manhattan, New York (1996-2000), the last year as associate in the design department, MSW Interiors (Matz, Scalzi, Wurmfeld). After a short period as a lecturer at the International Fine Arts College (IFAC) in Miami, Florida, he returned to Milan where he worked at Ettore Sottsass and Associates (2000-2006) on international projects of architecture and interior design. These days at StudioScalzi, he works on architectural and interior design projects, which combines with a laboratory of ceramic art. Since 2007, Maurizio Scalzi is also professor of Interior Design at NABA Design (Nuova Accademia Belle Arti) in Milan, and more recently at Interior Design Masters of SPD (Scuola Politecnica Design) and at Strategic Design Masters of Politecnico di Milano.
