Garen Demirdjian

Adjunct Faculty Member

Bachelor in Fashion Design, ESMOD, France

Garen Demirdjian was born in Beirut and raised in Athens, Greece. After getting his degree in Fine Arts, he moved to Paris to attend ESMOD, and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design. His first two prêt-a-porter collections were purchased exclusively by the trend setting l’Eclaireur in Paris. Following the success of his early collections, he took the decision to establish himself as an independent label under the name of Gardem in 2002. In 2009, he launched his second line of prêt-a-porter under the name Paramnesia. A year later, he found himself as the artistic director for the house of Basil Soda. Currently, he has his house of couture counting couture and prêt-a-porter under the name of Garen Demirdjian. During all these years, Demirdjian nurtured his passion for design and textile manipulation e.g. leather and expanded into bags, shoes and accessories to name a few. The woman he is dressing is a paradox; she is strong and edgy yet romantic and free. This woman has grown hand in hand with the brand, which explains how the aesthetics of the house have evolved keeping Gardem’s raw edge and romanticism while adding a clean sophistication and modernity to the line.
