Dr. Sawsan Saridar Masri has been a registered architect at the Order of Engineers and Architects in Beirut since 1996. She held the position of Assistant Professor (2004-2016) and Assistant Dean (2014-2016) at the Faculty of Architectural Engineering at the Beirut Arab University in Lebanon. In Fall 2017, she joined the Lebanese American University as a part-time faculty member. Dr. Masri holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, where she developed her interest in passive design and energy efficient architecture. She is an Associated Individual member of the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and an academic member of Athens Institute for Education and Research. Her current research interests revolve around architectural education and pedagogy, particularly related to quality assurance, development, validation process and diversity issues within architectural education and the profession.
