From Civil to Civic, Infrastructure Transformed

ENG 406 Auditorium, Byblos campus

The Department of Architecture & Interior Design is organizing a lecture titled: “From Civil to Civic: Infrastructure Transformed” by Victor Jones.

The lecture traces a decisive turning point for transportation infrastructure. Once in the exclusive domain of civil engineering, Jones presents a series of projects that embrace the public realm, the commons, and attitudes towards multi-modal mobility to broaden the notion of civic infrastructure. Nature, recreation, communities, and tying together people define new promise for cities to productively incorporate transportation infrastructure.

Victor Jones is an assistant professor at the University of Southern California and principal of Los Angeles-based design firm Fièvre + Jones. His work concentrates on the relationships between architecture, infrastructure, and the urban experience, playing a crucial role in both his design and intellectual pursuits.
