Humans at the Center
AKSB 904, Beirut campus
The Department of Art & Design is hosting a lecture titled: “Humans at the Center” by Maria Bahous.
Maria Bahous’ research is centered on the role of graphic designers to improve human interaction, be it in a virtual or in a physical space. She has given several workshops and lectures around the topic of social behavior in designed spaces. Her latest project, DataRev, as part of her MFA thesis at the Academy of the Arts University, revolves around the possibility as a designer to reinvent a human society in a time where we are losing control over our real identity. Apart from teaching at LAU, Maria runs Kubik graphic design studio that she launched in 2006. Kubik is specialized in creating and communicating meaningful brands on the local and international level.
