Carine Lteif has a long-standing career in academic teaching and is generally interested in researching the interplay between space and nature in urban settings with a particular emphasis on land and landscapes. Her research includes exploring urban agriculture as multifunctional landscapes in Beirut and examining the potential of waqf lands for preserving and developing agriculture in the city. In addition to her academic work, Dr Lteif is a member of the NEO-life Lebanese French Mediterranean Environment Observatory (CNRS-France and CNRS-Lebanon). She has also been operating a private consultancy since 2006 providing expert studies for agriculture, landscape design, urban planning, and environmental projects. Her recent work includes landscape interventions in Horsh Beirut and a study of Saida’s public coastline.
