Dr. Joseph Kiprianos is a full-time faculty member and teaches several courses in the Department of Architecture and Interior Design. He joined LAU as a part-time faculty member in 1993 and became a full-timer in 1998. His main area of research is in religious architecture and heritage. At LAU, he is a member of the University Council for Financial Aid, advisor for architecture and interior design students in Beirut, and a final-year/thesis juror. Apart from teaching, Dr. Kiprianos has been working as an arbitrator for The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London since 2004 and as an engineering consultant for The Lebanese Courts since 1992. He has also been a design consultant since 1989; he is currently involved in the design of the University Medical Center - Rizk Hospital, Personal Hotel, Qatari Palace, and four residential villas. In addition, he has worked on the design and execution of Saint Rafqa Cathedral in Jrapta. His projects also include: Kabalan-Achkar Building (Knaytreh), School and Convent for the Maronite Sisters for the Holy Family (Bkarzla), Kamouh I Commercial Center (Beirut Harbor), Zouein Bakery Shop (Beirut), Bassil G. Villa (Byblos), Mouaness Villa (Ehmej), Kiprianos Residence (Laklouk), President House at the Lebanese American University (Beirut), Riyad Nassar Library furniture at the Lebanese American University (Beirut), Mrad Villa (Edde Bujawdeh) and Riachi Restaurant/Car-wash Cafe (Bouchrieh).
