Mabelle Sawan is an artist, illustrator, and animation director. Upon graduating from LAU in 2012 with a BA in Graphic Design, she began her career as an Experiential/Environmental Graphic Designer, which extended her formal education into spatial and urban practices that aim to improve people’s relationships with the places they inhabit. During this time, she became increasingly interested in immersive approaches to design and time-based arts, and in 2019 she completed her MA in Character Animation – Performance Art program at Central Saint Martins, London. She is currently working professionally as an illustrator, animator and filmmaker and has been commissioned by a wide range of clients for various film genres. Her short films have taken part in multiple local and international film festivals.
