A veteran LAU graduate and staff, Maher Berro joined as a faculty member in 2013, teaching design and digital courses in the School of Architecture and Design and the School of Arts and Sciences. As an instructor, Berro vigorously seeks to engage and expand students’ cognitive and creative thinking using a combination of “hard work”, “learn by experiment”, and “playfulness in creativity” approaches. A web geek, with an interdisciplinary design background, he has been practicing interior design, visual communication, web design and development since 1998. Maher has his own design and consultancy trade with a recent focus on web and multimedia; he also acts as a web and design specialist at LAU, collaborating with different departments. He strives to implement and communicate professional standards, employing his expertise in best practices, communication design, accessibility design, usability design, interaction design, and user-centered design; he craves to create unique user experiences within an innovative and creative context in the ever-evolving multimedia environments.
