Vincent Panhuysen

Vincent Panhuysen MArch (1964, Utrecht), founding partner of KAAN Architecten, is the project architect of numerous works, ranging from courthouse buildings, university centers, government and cultural institution buildings to crematoria and apartment complexes.

He holds a broad perspective on the design process. Beyond understanding the design challenge, he places great importance on execution, the actual construction of the building. This approach reflects an attitude rather than a preference for a particular architectural trend or style, although his heart lies with a relaxed functionalism.

Spatiality and clear layering are characteristic of the designs by KAAN Architecten and, consequently, of Vincent Panhuysen. In all projects, a respect for the environment can be identified; Planet Proof, balanced with other requirements.

He is affiliated as a visiting professor at Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture.
