The Institute of Art in the Arab World (IAAW) cordially invites you to A Conversation on Anthology of Visual Arts in Lebanon with Ramzi El Hafez, a discussion exploring how the publication documents Lebanon’s artistic and visual landscape. The conversation will be moderated by Yasmine Nachabe Taan, associate professor and director of the IAAW at LAU.

The Anthology of Visual Arts in Lebanon (2025) is a comprehensive compendium that chronicles the evolution of Lebanese visual culture from early modernism to contemporary art. Profiling over 350 artists across 12 artistic genres including portraiture, abstraction, sculpture, photography, and conceptual art, the work provides an expansive overview of the nation’s creative history. Designed as an essential archival record, the volume highlights the dialogue between tradition, resilience, and contemporary experimentation that defines the identity of Lebanese visual arts.
