Art & Design Summer Camp (Beirut)

Interior Design, Studio Arts and Graphic Design

The Summer Art & Design Camp organized by the School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University (LAU) aims to introduce high school students to the exciting world of design, creativity, and spatial thinking.

The program will provide participants with a unique opportunity to experience university life while exploring the disciplines of Interior Design, Studio Arts and Graphic Design through interactive workshops, hands-on projects, and collaborative activities.

Program Structure

The camp will combine common art and design modules with specialized tracks selected according to each participant’s interests. This approach allows students to explore diverse design fields while focusing on a discipline they may wish to pursue in their future studies.

a.     Art and Design Modules:

Integrated into the daily schedule, these shared modules feature cross-disciplinary courses spanning the SArD curriculum. Participants engage in diverse creative practices, ranging from textile experimentation, photography, ceramics, printmaking and painting to virtual reality and generative art coding.

b.     Specialized Modules

Upon registration, participants will customize their 5-day schedule by selecting a specialized track for each day. They will have the freedom to choose a different track for every day of the camp or to focus on a single discipline throughout the week:

·       Interior Design

·       Studio Arts

·       Graphic Design

Interior Design: Design, Build, Create

Have you ever imagined shaping the environments we inhabit? Do you love working with different materials, experimenting with textures, and build your own space using wood, metal, fabrics, ceramics, and 3D printing? Are you excited to sketch, design, model, and transform abstract concepts into physical reality?

If so, our Interior Design Summer Camp is for you!

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have hands-on experiences and a fresh perspective on what it means to craft interior spaces.

Studio Arts: Create, Experiment, Innovate

Have you ever dreamed of sculpting with clay, creating handcrafted prints, or bringing your ideas to life through 3D printing? Would you like to collaborate with other young creatives and work in fully equipped studios?

If so, our Studio Arts Summer Camp is for you!

By the end of the camp, you’ll have your own unique artworks to showcase, a newfound appreciation for different art forms, and a memorable experience to carry forward in your creative journey.

Graphic Design: Design, Visualize, Communicate.

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to turn a sketch of an idea into a professional graphic communication? Do you want to create, experiment with new mediums, and see your vision come to life in real-time? Are you ready to dive deep into branding, UX/UI, typography, printing, and animation to see how graphic designers shape the world?

If so, our Graphic Design summer camp is for you!

This experience is all about “doing.” Through a series of immersive creative modules—ranging from the digital precision of UX/UI to the tactile beauty of Risograph printing—you’ll gain hands-on experience in how to think, build, and ship your work.

By the end of the camp, you’ll have more than just a portfolio; you’ll have a fresh perspective on your own creative potential and the confidence to tackle any design challenge that comes your way.

Camp Objectives

This hands-on camp is a one-of-a-kind experience where you’ll get to:

·       Explore potential future majors and career paths in interior design, studio arts and graphic design.

·       Work alongside talented art instructors and learn directly from their expertise.

·       Experience studio-based learning similar to university design education.

·       Utilize state-of-the-art facilities, including a fabrication lab, sculpture and ceramics studio, printmaking studio, and 3D printing facilities.

·       Develop design and spatial skills as you explore structure, form, and design principles.
