Rania Nader is a design educator and practitioner based in Beirut since 1996. She is a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers London (ISTD) and a founding member of the ISTD ME. Nader’s extensive teaching years at major Lebanese universities, in addition to acting as external juror in Master degree shows, national and international design awards and student assessments schemes, granted her a significant exposure highlighting her socio-cultural engagement. She has co-curated several design events/conferences in Germany, London and Beirut and undertook notable design workshops meeting up with prominent figures of the Design community. She works as a freelancer for Lebanese and Gulf clients and has recently initiated ‘oriental.occidental design’, a project centralized in the development and publication of experimental bilingual visual communication, card design and paper goods as part of her design and management studio. She is currently involved in a research project on cultural heritage and design, around which she writes and delivers lectures in neighboring countries.
