Fujairah International Conference on Calligraphy and Ornamentation

From 17 to 25 October 2025, a group of ten graphic design students from LAU, accompanied by Assistant Prof. Rana Abou Rjeily and Dr. May Farhat, took part in a major international event in Fujairah, UAE. Hosted by the School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation as part of the 2nd Fujairah International Conference on Calligraphy and Ornamentation, the program gathered students, artists, scholars, and practitioners from around the world. The first two days featured presentations by leading experts on the arts of the Islamic world, offering historical and artistic insights. The following days were devoted to hands-on workshops in Arabic calligraphy, ornamentation, and manuscript arts. Students also showcased their creative work in the international exhibition Expansion and joined a student art competition organized by ‘دارة الشعر’.
