SArD Welcomes Incoming Students at Third Annual New Student Orientation

The School of Architecture and Design (SArD) held its third annual New Student Orientation on Friday, September 4, 2026, welcoming incoming students at both the LAU Beirut and Byblos campuses. Now in its third year, the orientation introduced new students to SArD’s academic environment, resources, and community.

Organized by the Teaching and Learning Committee (TLC), the orientation introduced students to SArD’s Teaching and Learning Culture Policy (TLCP), core values, studio culture, and academic expectations, while providing an overview of the Foundation Year curriculum and academic advising.

The program also emphasized connection and participation. Students met faculty, staff, senior students, and their new classmates. They explored studios, labs, and other School facilities and took part in a School-wide scavenger hunt. The day also included lunch, a raffle for LAU merchandise, and hands-on mini studio activities that gave students an early opportunity to experience SArD’s culture of making, collaboration, and critique.
